About James
Hello! My name is James. I scored a perfect 36 on the ACT in high school and hope to help you do the same! I have a BS and MS from a top 100 college, Georgia Tech, where I specialized in data science and Chinese politics & language. I have teaching experience at Crimson Education and served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant where I taught graduate and undergraduate level classes. I am currently an intern at a think tank and aspiring to enter into a PhD program next year.

The typical lesson will start with a brief overview of last lesson's concept and homework as the next lesson will build on it. We will then have a 10-minute interactive lesson on today's topic and strategies followed by a walkthrough of several questions. We will then move on to real ACT/SAT questions where I will give the student time to answer them and monitor them as they do so. After, we will go over their thought process and address any concerns. Lastly, we will move onto a lesson wrap-up and introduce the homework. The student will have access to all past lessons and the notes we create on the interactive whiteboard.

James is a very good tutor in prepping for the SAT, giving advice on quicker reading comprehension and especially with understanding mathematics.
I found him to be a very solid SAT tutor overall. He helped me with different sections of the test and explained strategies in a clear and structured way. What stood out most was his strength in math—he could break down difficult problems into simple, easy-to-follow steps.
