About Patricia

Yoga National offers Bikram-based yoga training with 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises repeated twice in 90 minutes in a heated environment. I certified as a Bikram instructor in 2014 and developed yoga training for 100 ballet dancers at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington, DC, after teaching in Costa Rica. My group classes are $25 per person and I can offer a private class for $75 which is the equivalent to a full body massage through execution of the 26 postures.

The progress of students is rewarding in itself. I love teaching people of all ages the breathing and postures as well as the 6 limbs of yoga.

I had a fall that left me unable to raise my arms above my head in a shower in Paris. A yoga instructor and friend who worked for US Secret Service and was my supervisor in the Air Force took me to Bikram yoga. I trained for a year and a half before going to teacher training in 2014. I have taught in studios and overseas in the United States and Vermont.

About the lesson

Q1. The student completes a questionnaire and watches a video to set expectations. Then each posture is explained and demonstrated. First class is 2 hours and $75. Afterwards, $25 per class or Class Pass available with 10 Classes for $150. I have a studio on Mind Body Online ~ Bikram Yoga Middleburg. I also teach private lessons to ballerinas at the Kirov Academy of Ballet and host yoga retreats.

All types.

Go to a Bikram studio. Stand in the third row. Watch the first set and try to do the second set. Don't judge yourself to harshly. The longer it takes to get deeper in a posture, the better.

Yoga in Times Square was a memorable event because it brings 13,000 people to New York City to practice each year at the Solstice. I taught 100 ballet students at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in a Summer Intensive Program in July, so am accustom to teaching those with injury.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are my expectations of myself and my teacher? Are my expectations realistic? Of myself? Of the teacher? On the door of my first studio I will never forget the posted notice. It said:

No shoes

No cell phones

No chewing gum

No jewelry

No parfume

No whining

No excuses

No attitude

The best advice I could offer a student. You put in the work you will see the result. Intensity, repetition and frequency.
