About Cecilia

"I am a passionate music educator with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music Education in Strings with a focus on Violin. My career centers on a collaborative group teaching style designed for lively ensemble classes, intense orchestral sectionals, and chamber music coaching. I love training students in critical listening skills, understanding group dynamics, tuning perfectly within an ensemble, and taking on leadership roles as concertmasters.

Much of my work involves leading dynamic youth orchestras and school ensembles to bring young musicians together. I remember working with a school group that struggled to play in sync, but through fun rhythmic clapping drills, they learned to listen to each other and unified their sound beautifully. My lessons are designed to turn solo players into confident team members who know how to support the musicians around them.

We focus on building strong technical foundations while learning how to communicate musically without speaking a word. Every rehearsal and coaching session is a safe space to grow your confidence, make mistakes, and discover the joy of making music as a community. I am excited to help you find your unique place in the orchestra and master the art of group performance."

About the lesson

"I design my violin lessons around highly effective silent practice methods and mental training to support busy or anxious learners. We will focus on innovative techniques like mental fingering, silent bowing, air violin, and visualization to help you practice anytime without making a sound. Our sessions will also cover vital topics like performance memory, deep tension awareness, and relaxed preparation.

This practical approach is perfect for students who need to fit practice into a packed schedule or want to build the independence to practice quietly at home. I also provide a comforting space for singers who want to add the violin to their musical skills or those who simply love playing for themselves in private. For example, we might visualize the fingerboard patterns while riding the bus to work so you can learn a song faster without touching the instrument.

My goal is to help you manage your time effectively while fostering immense emotional growth and confidence. I want you to feel entirely relaxed, supported, and capable every single time you open your instrument case. We will work together at a calm pace to eliminate physical tension and help you achieve your personal musical goals."
