About Ashley

Hello, I'm Ashley! I graduated from the MA Fashion Design course at Central Saint Martins two years ago, and since then I’ve built hands-on experience working across the fashion industry. Over the past year, I’ve been working with a small womenswear brand as a designer, while also getting involved in production, wholesale, and the wider running of a brand—so I can offer a really well-rounded, real-world perspective.

I love helping students develop their ideas and find their own creative direction. Whether you need support with concept development, portfolio building, research, or refining your designs, I can bring plenty of references, inspiration, and practical guidance to help push your work further.

My approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to you, I want you to feel confident in your ideas while also challenging yourself creatively.

About the lesson

My teaching is centred around helping you develop your own creative voice while building strong technical skills to support it. I don’t believe in a one size fits all approach, each session is tailored to where you are, what you’re working on, and what you want to achieve.

With my background in both design and the wider workings of a fashion brand, I offer a balance of creative direction and real industry insight. I will give honest, constructive feedback to push your work forward, while also supporting you in refining ideas and building confidence in your decisions. Having successfully applied for and received multiple scholarships during my studies, I can also offer guidance on portfolio building and applications in a practical, experience led way.

I can help with a wide range of areas including design development, portfolio building, creative pattern cutting, garment construction, and research processes. I also bring knowledge of natural dyeing and sustainable practices for those interested in more conscious approaches to fashion. Alongside this, I offer support with digital tools such as CLO3D and the Adobe Suite.

A typical lesson might involve reviewing your current work, developing ideas together, introducing new references, and setting clear next steps so you continue progressing between sessions. I aim to make lessons collaborative and engaging, where you feel encouraged but also challenged to push your work further.

Above all, I believe creativity is key. My goal is to help you create work that feels personal, original, and reflective of who you are, rather than following a formula.

My hourly rate is £30, which reflects both my industry experience and the level of tailored support I offer. I understand that everyone’s situation is different, so I’m open to discussing rates depending on your needs, the type of support you’re looking for, or if you’re interested in booking multiple sessions.
