About Agnes

I’m a final-year Dentistry Master’s student with a scientific Bachelor’s degree and extensive experience tutoring students across a range of ages and abilities.

Science has always been one of my strongest areas, and I particularly enjoy helping students understand topics that initially seem difficult or overwhelming. I know from tutoring that the right explanation can completely change how confident a student feels about a subject.

I have also worked extensively with SEN students, including students with Autism and ADHD, which has taught me how important it is to adapt lessons to the individual rather than using the same approach for everyone.

I enjoy tutoring because I genuinely like seeing students become more confident, improve their grades and reach a point where they can tackle questions independently.

About the lesson

My lessons are tailored to each individual student, with a strong focus on making difficult scientific concepts clear, memorable and easy to apply in exams.

I teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics using a combination of clear explanations, diagrams, worked examples, quizzes, retrieval practice and exam-style questions. I regularly check understanding throughout the lesson rather than simply moving through content.

I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, helping students understand exactly what questions are asking for and how to structure answers to maximise marks.

I have extensive experience supporting students with different learning needs, including SEN, Autism and ADHD, so I am very comfortable adapting the pace, structure and teaching style of lessons to suit the student.

My aim is not just to help students memorise Science, but to genuinely understand it, become more confident and eventually be able to approach difficult questions independently.

Amazing tutor - my child would have not received the grades he did without her help. Although none of the teachers believed he could achieve anything above a grade 4, he passed his exams with 8s and 9s. Cannot say how grateful we are.

Agnes has been my children’s tutor now for 2 years. I have never seen such positive results from any tutor like I have with Agnes. She is so interactive with my two boys and she was able to allow them to achieve an 9s in maths, biology, chemistry and physics for both my children. They were predicted 5s last year but did very well in their exams. I really do believe Agnes played a huge role in my children’s education!
