About Finnian
I have a keen interest in the sciences, it's always been a major part of my academics from GCSEs all the way to my undergraduate course. Tutoring students in science is a big passion of mine, I've been tutoring for over 2 years now. I love being able to help students see their full potential with simple techniques that I've come to learn over my GCSEs and A-levels that can so much time when revising. I try to keep my lessons engaging and interactive, to make sure my students get the most out of each session.

Having just finished my A-levels, I have a good understanding of the content of the current syllabuses and of what the exam boards are looking for. In terms of qualifications, I've achieved A*s at A-levels and GCSEs for both Biology and Chemistry and am currently studying biochemistry at Imperial College London.
When working with a tutee, I first like to identify the barriers to whats preventing the student from achieving their full potential in the subject (poor-exam techniques, weakness on certain areas of the curriculum's syllabus, lack of past paper question experience etc.). Then improve the student's exam confidence through a mixture of focused learning of challenging topics, targeted past paper questions and tailored homework assignments. Overall, I aim to finish going through the syllabus ahead of the student's school timetable to ensure maximum breathing room to practice past papers before the start of exams.
I am looking to tutor 1st year/beginning of 2nd year GCSE students, just to ensure sufficient time to go through the course's syllabus. The average length of a session is around 1 hour, normally once a week.
