About Kateryna

I have a First-Class Cambridge degree in Languages (Spanish & Russian) and have taught English both within the UK curriculum, through tutoring GCSE English, and as a second language, having independently taught both adults and high-school students in Costa Rica.

Beyond my teaching experience, my broad career history spans roles in Film Production, Film Festivals and at a UN agency, alongside a range of volunteering roles, predominantly in an educational/mentoring capacity and supporting anti-food-waste charities.

About the lesson

Energetic, encouraging and determined, I am confident teaching English, Spanish and Art to all ages and abilities, from primary school to Degree level.

A firm believer in tailored learning, I devise and deliver tutoring sessions that cater to the abilities, interests and personalities of students. Whether this means developing visual, bite-sized learning materials, or helping pupils navigate intellectually challenging content, I am highly responsive to the needs and preferences of my students.

This bespoke approach extends to familiarising myself with the specifications and marking criteria of any formal examinations, to ensure my lessons are relevant, targeted and translate into both increased confidence and improved results.

Above all else, I seek to teach in a way that cultivates enduring skills that students can carry forward beyond exams or assignments. I do not believe in simply dispensing with answers, but in asking the right questions and encouraging students to reach answers through critical and creative thinking.

I encourage learning beyond my lessons and consider homework and further independent learning key to identifying weak spots and, equally importantly, charting progress.
