About Destiny
I’m a History graduate from the University of Exeter who is about to complete a law conversion course in London. Fresh out of university, I’m still obsessed with my degree truthfully. I also love helping others reach their potential, which is why I thought Superprof would be the perfect opportunity for me. Academics aside, I’m a running enthusiast who loves to read and go to the cinema. I enjoy Zumba and dance, spending time with friends and family, travelling, and keeping up with the latest box-office trends. I’m very sociable and friendly and will always aim to accommodate people and make them feel welcome whenever I can!

There’s a formula for getting a First in History, and I’m here to teach you how to crack it! I went from scoring 2:1’s in first year to consistently achieving Firsts in my final year - whatever grade you’re striving for, let’s reach it together.
My lessons will be underscored by a personalised approach to your learning. Are you struggling with finding relevant primary or secondary sources? Is that group presentation beginning to get you down? Maybe you just can’t get to grips with how to structure your argument (this was my biggest learning curve!). I am here to adapt our sessions to meet your needs.
Not sure where to start yet or need a more general approach to the year? That’s also completely okay, and I venture to be as extensive and helpful as possible in our one-to-ones. Aside from the personalised touch I strive to maintain, my standard year-round approach consists of the main areas that are crucial to helping you get that grade you’re looking for. You can pick and choose what works for you, or work through them in a linear order - it’s your learning, so your choice!

- Lectures and Seminars: how to approach and make the most of my university timetable.
- Primary and Secondary Sources: where to find them and how to use them strategically.
- How to approach an undergraduate History essay: the basics.
- The ‘Three Pillars’ of a History essay: argument, structure, and evidence.
- Speaking and Listening: how to excel at group presentations.
- Final Year Students: support with dissertations.
In between or within structured lessons, there will be the opportunity for me to also review your work and for us to work through sample exercises together. As the academic year progresses, we can mould our sessions to whatever is relevant to you at the time - this may also mean revisiting previous topics discussed, and that’s okay!
