About Oscar
I don’t believe in "maths people" and "non-maths people." My own success in Mathematics, earning an A* and then a First Class MEng, was not a result of innate talent but of developing a systematic curiosity and a disciplined approach to problem-solving.
Having built my own expertise from the ground up, I understand exactly where students trip up and how to bridge those conceptual gaps. My goal is to provide a shortcut for you to develop mathematical skills and to share the enthusiasm I have for the subject.

Mathematics is often taught as a list of rules to memorise, but I treat it as a logical story. My sessions focus on developing intuition, understanding the 'why' behind the 'how', so you can tackle unseen exam questions with confidence. I will teach you to build patterns and recognise the tools you need to use for tackling each question. I will focus on areas of weakness by asking targeted questions and leading you to the solution.
With a First Class MEng in Maths and Computer Science and over a year of international tutoring experience, I have experience in tailoring my lessons to different learning styles. I have successfully guided students from C to A grades by identifying conceptual gaps and breaking down each problem into doable, smaller problems. Lessons are typically 1–2 hours, typically GCSE or A Level, but very willing to pivot and tutor a different level.
