About Zahraa

One of the reasons I discovered my passion for tutoring was because of my Grade 9 math class. Our teacher had a teaching style that many students, including myself, found difficult to follow. As a result, a large number of us struggled to understand the material during class, so we began relying on one another to keep up. What started as daily study sessions with one friend quickly grew into a small group, where I would first learn the material on my own and then explain it to everyone else in a way that was easier to understand. Looking back, that experience taught me that I had a real passion for teaching. As our grades continued to improve, I realized that teaching was something I genuinely enjoyed and seemed to have a natural ability for. I also found that explaining concepts to others was the best way for me to strengthen my own understanding. That experience inspired me to start volunteering during my lunch breaks throughout high school, offering free math tutoring to students from any grade who needed extra help. I was fortunate to work with so many students that my lunch periods were almost always fully booked. Now that I've graduated, I can no longer volunteer at school, but I still want to continue helping students who feel overwhelmed or left behind in math class. That's why I decided to start tutoring online. I want to provide the same support that helped my classmates succeed: lessons that are interactive, encourage students to think through problems on their own, and include plenty of guided practice rather than simply watching someone solve questions. My goal is to help students truly understand the material so they can apply what they've learned independently, both in the classroom and on assessments.

About the lesson

I offer one-on-one math tutoring for middle school and high school students using a structured, interactive approach tailored to each student's learning needs. With 4 years of experience tutoring peers, I understand that many students find classroom instruction difficult to follow due to the pace of lessons or lengthy explanations. My teaching method focuses on breaking down complex concepts into clear, logical steps, allowing students to fully understand each topic before moving on. Every lesson emphasizes active participation through guided problem-solving, continuous practice, and immediate feedback, ensuring students apply what they learn throughout the session. Whether students need help with homework, test preparation, or reteaching class material, my goal is to help them develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts through structured, step-by-step instruction.
