About Alice
I'm a first year at the University of Bristol, studying for a degree in Politics and International Relations. I studied for A Levels in Government and Politics, Classical Civilisations and Spanish at a superselective grammar school, achieving A*A*A respectively. As a student myself, I understand the hard work that needs to be put in to achieving goals (whether that is entry to grammar schools or excellent exam results), and already have over 2 years of experience in tutoring 8-15 olds. As a tutor, I am confident and passionate about what I teach, and aim to establish a good, professional relationship with both tutees and their parents.

I believe in a personal, tailored approach to lessons in order to ensure they are both engaging and productive. This will include a mixture of demonstration and individual tasks to build confidence, and short assessments to track progress. Before beginning regular lessons with students, I think it is important to discuss long-term goals with parents and identify both areas of strengths and weaknesses to work on. I am an interactive tutor, looking to build good relationships with tutees, and enjoy using technology as an effective learning tool, for example to email online resources that can be viewed/completed outside of lessons. Sessions normally last for approximately an hour, but I'm flexible and happy to accommodate individual needs.

Alice has been helping my son with his GCSE English for a year now. Alice is always very well prepared, planning an engaging, well structured lesson. During the lesson Alice helps him to analyse and interpret the text, making recommendations and suggestions. My sons English has really improved since having lessons with Alice. She is reliable, conscientious and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alice.
Alice has been teaching my 14 year old daughter & 15 year old son for 7 months now in English & History. She is very clearly extremely knowledgeable in her subject areas and has a really measured and engaging way to her. Both my children have come along significantly since she has been supporting them. She has a really nice way of connecting with them at their level. Also as she herself has very recently been through the stage they are currently at - she is able to deliver the lessons in a very succinct and targeted way, highlighting exactly what they need to know for the best results.
