About Kamilla

I am a classical flutist and teacher currently working as a freelance musician. I have performed with ensembles including Britten Sinfonia, appeared at the BBC Proms, and previously performed with Sinfonia Smith Square during their 2024/25 season.

I hold degrees in Classical Flute Performance from the Royal Academy of Music in London and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.

Alongside my performing career, I have extensive experience teaching students of different ages and levels. I currently teach privately and regularly cover and substitute for flute teachers at the Junior Royal Academy of Music, working with young musicians at different stages of their development. I have prepared students for exams, recitals, concerts, and school performances, and I always aim to create a supportive and positive learning environment.

I believe that every student learns differently and at their own pace. My goal is to help each student develop strong fundamentals, build confidence, and, most importantly, find genuine enjoyment in playing music.

Since completing my Master's degree, I have embraced the freelance lifestyle, regularly performing at short notice, covering for colleagues, teaching, and playing at private events. This has given me a wide range of professional performance experience and taught me to be adaptable, reliable, and comfortable working in different musical settings.

Previously, I also worked at the Flute Center of New York as a play tester and quality-control assistant, where I regularly played more than 50 flutes a day. During this time, I also ran my own private teaching studio at Aurora Music Academy in New Jersey, preparing students for recitals, school performances, and other musical opportunities.

I am passionate about sharing my love of the flute and helping students develop their skills, confidence, and musicality in a positive and enjoyable environment.

About the lesson

I’ve been teaching for 10 years, and I truly enjoy sharing my passion for music and flute playing with my students. Whether you are preparing for pre-college auditions, practising for a school band, preparing for an exam or performance, or simply looking for guidance as you discover the world of classical music, I am here to help!

I personalise each lesson to the individual student’s needs, goals, and learning style, ensuring that we work together towards the desired outcome. Over the years, I have prepared students for summer music festivals, auditions, NYSSMA, ABRSM, and RCM exams, as well as recitals and school performances.

My goal is not only to help students develop strong technical and musical skills, but also to build their confidence and, most importantly, enjoy playing the flute.
