About Jasin

Hi! I'm Jasin, a Cambridge maths graduate and an experienced tutor with a passion for teaching. I have worked with a number of students to help them achieve top A/A* grades at GCSE and A-Level, and really enjoy watching students progress and gain confidence.

== Methodology ==

I am focused on 1:1 sessions to provide a tailored experience to students, spending time to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Above all I aim to improve a student's confidence so that they feel more comfortable as they approach more difficult problems in a subject. I am always patient and encouraging to help the student feel at ease and enjoy learning.

== Lesson Plan ==

I will start by spending time understanding the student's current level - a mix of looking at previously marked work and sitting alongside the student doing questions. This helps give me an idea of not only what they are able to do, but how they are thinking and approaching problems. From this I will work out a plan of how to improve and tackle weaknesses. Time spent in lessons will be focused on interactive learning, helping a student hone their thought process, and then problems will be given for the student to work through before looking at in the next lesson. Exact practicalities depend on what the student is looking to achieve and where they're struggling.

== Experience ==

I have been teaching Maths in 1:1 sessions at GCSE and A-Level, helping students achieve As and A*s. A-Level experience spans the full set of Core, Mechanics and Statistics. I achieved A*s in Maths and Further Maths at A-Level, with a total score of 1193/1200, and achieved a Triple First in Maths and Computer Science at Trinity College, Cambridge University.

I volunteer teaching programming at various non-profit organisations, typically involving 1:1 sessions, guiding beginners who are just learning to code to progress to a level where they are ready to get their first junior developer role. I am a full-time Software Developer, and have been working professionally for 9 years.

I am also an enthusiastic chess player, competing at international level, and teach school children aged 8-15 in both 1:1 sessions as well as group classes at schools.

University - Triple First in Mathematics and Computer Science from Trinity College, University of Cambridge

A Level: 4 A* – Computing (97%)

Career - work as Software Developer at MonolithAI, have previously worked at companies such as Just Eat and Palantir Technologies.
