About Daniel
I'm a certified math teacher with my most recent experience teaching precalculus at Liberty High School. I actually do math in my spare time for fun, both new topics and just fun challenging problems. I've been tutoring for 5 years and I really enjoy being able to share my passion for math with my students and see them excel in math. My degree is in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics, and I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a GPA of 3.96 at the University of New Haven. I love problem-solving and STEM topics, and this has really helped me to excel in my own math journey as well as to pass on my knowledge to others.

In addition to being enthusiastic about math, I like to teach in such a way that makes it interesting. I adapt my approach to each individual student, but in general, we use the material from the student's schoolwork, work through it together, and clear up any confusion and common mistakes. Some students like to see a few examples done by me first before they take the lead. Other students prefer to try everything first, and then instead of me telling them whether they're correct or not, I ask questions that guide the student to realizing for him/herself whether they did it correctly. This builds confidence and gets them used to asking the right questions that lead them to their own correct answers.
I also like to use real-world examples when possible to make the math more relatable. Some degree of memorization is inevitable, and I give tips on how to remember certain formulas or steps.
At the end of each lesson we do a recap, and then I will typically assign some additional work to solidify what we covered.

-Precalculus
-Trigonometry
-Calculus (both high school and college)
