About Robert

Hello, I’m Bob. I’m a former primary school teacher with over 12 years of classroom experience, based in the North East of England. I specialise in teaching KS2 Science, helping pupils build both knowledge and confidence in the subject.

Throughout my career, I have worked with a wide range of learners — from children who need to strengthen core concepts, to those who are curious and eager to explore science in more depth. I create calm, structured, and interactive lessons where pupils feel supported, challenged, and inspired to learn.

My approach combines practical experiments, discussion, and problem-solving activities to make Science engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable. I aim to help children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy kayaking, parkrunning, and spending time outdoors with my family and our puppy — and I bring the same energy and enthusiasm to my Science lessons.

About the lesson

I deliver engaging, hands-on Science lessons tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. I believe science should be fun, interactive, and inspiring, so I focus on practical activities, experiments, and discussions that spark curiosity and build understanding.

My sessions are designed to strengthen core scientific knowledge while also developing confidence, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills. Whether your child needs support catching up, exploring topics in more depth, or preparing for KS2 assessments, I structure lessons to make progress clear, achievable, and enjoyable.

My child has been receiving tutoring from Bob for several months to support Year 6 Maths, English, and SATs preparation. Bob is an experienced, professional, and approachable tutor who really knows how to engage KS2 students.

He worked with my child on some particularly challenging SATs topics in Maths, explaining concepts clearly, using fun, interactive methods, and adapting the session to my child’s learning style. By the end of the session, my child not only understood the topic but felt much more confident tackling similar problems independently.
