About Ian

I have 25+ years of experience that I can draw from in my teaching, related to all aspects of the industry from training, operations, maintenance and safety.

I have held a variety of positions in the industry including Chief Flight Instructor, VP Operations, Pilot Examiner, Language Examiner, Radio Examiner, Maintenance Manager and Safety/QA Manager!

My passion has always been teaching; everything from PPL training to instructor renewals and recurrency. I now do this through my company - Virtual CFI Training.

As a trainer, I am relaxed, open, honest and transparent in my approach and feedback. I will only teach you if I think I have the capability to add true value to your training experience!

About the lesson

My approach is driven by giving honest feedback, setting realistic expectations and providing efficient training, while also being fair and friendly!

Whether you are struggling with a subject in PPL groundschool to how to best prepare a lesson plan for an instructor rating I am happy to help!

My passion is imparting practical knowledge to the future generation of aviators in an efficient, engaging and supportive environment.

I can deliver ground training in person at my office in Pitt Meadows Airport, at a location near you, or online.
