About Jarrett
I’m a bass and cello instructor with a passion for orchestral music and helping students become confident, well-rounded musicians. My orchestral experience has shaped the way I teach, with an emphasis on strong technique, musicality, ensemble awareness, and understanding how your individual part fits into the bigger picture.
I enjoy working with students at different experience levels, from beginners learning their first notes to developing musicians preparing for orchestra auditions and performances. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to each player’s goals and needs.
Above all, I want students to enjoy making music, feel confident with their instrument, and develop skills they can carry with them into rehearsals, performances, and beyond.

My bass and cello lessons are designed to help students build strong technique, musical confidence, and the skills needed to succeed in both solo and orchestral playing. Drawing from my own orchestral experience, I help students understand not only how to play their part, but how to listen, blend, lead, and contribute to an ensemble. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, whether you’re a beginner building a solid foundation, an orchestra student preparing repertoire, or a more advanced player working toward auditions and performances. My goal is to make lessons focused, encouraging, and enjoyable while helping every student become a stronger and more independent musician.
