About Yanis

I have been in school studying French since the age of 4. I was taught French in public school in Montreal, Canada, and moved to Toronto in grade 5. The French I learned in Montreal was so advanced that I did not learn anything new in public school here in Toronto until grade 8. From grade 8-12 in Toronto, I studied French and excelled in that class due to my nature of it being my mother tongue. I have taught adults and kids on my own time for quite some time. I have taught other activities such as skateboarding, archery, and badminton with the Community Centre of Rouge Woods in Richmond Hill professionally as my career job. I am glad to meet you all! Allez! On apprend le français ensemble!!! Ouiiii?

About the lesson

I teach core French. This means that you will learn how to conjugate verbs to make proper sentences and how to create sentences from scratch. I teach all levels from Grade 1-12. If you need to improve your oral skills as well, we can definitely work together on it at the same time. I will teach you how to understand the basics and formulate sentences so that you will be able to write your first short story after the 2nd month. I do not translate directly from English, but if this is something you would like to learn, I can also offer this service. My background and ethnicity is Algerian, so French is my maternal language and is very different from Quebec accents and really close to France. I can also speak with a Quebec accent. Perfect! Yanis is fantastic. I originally hired him to tutor my son, 14, in French. My son enjoyed working with him so much we brought Yanis on two other days a week for tutoring in Business & Geo. I’ve hired numerous tutors over the years but neither my son or I saw results. Yanis is patient while being persistent; I couldn’t recommend him enough. Thanks Yanis!
