About Maria
As I have learned French as a second official language, in addition to learning and mastering other languages, I can understand how students feel towards the various steps involved in learning French as another language for them. There are various methods to apply to make the learning of French a pleasant experience.
I speak French in my daily life and have worked professionnally with French in the public service for over forty years. It has always been a pleasure for me to help other people to learn French in addition to other languages.

At the first contact with elementary to high school students, we need to discuss their level of knowledge, interest and expectations of learning French. A revision of past lessons is useful to identify their strengths and weaknesses and to confirm their knowledge. Patience and empathy are key to make the student feel comfortable. One needs to be particularly understanding with younger children whose attention span usually does not go beyond 30 minutes.
