About Armelya
Hello! I’m Armelya, a second-year Social Sciences student at the University of Ottawa. I studied in French my entire life before university and have recently resumed my studies in French at UOttawa. Both of my parents are teachers, so I’ve grown up observing and learning from them, which has shaped my understanding of how to explain concepts clearly and support students. I am passionate about helping students learn and succeed, and I bring professionalism, patience, and a supportive approach to every lesson. My experience as a student allows me to understand academic challenges and tailor lessons to each learner’s needs. Students can trust that I provide structured, engaging, and clear guidance in French, whether for school, university, or personal growth.

My name is Armelya, and my approach as a tutor is centered on adapting to each student’s individual needs. I focus on building confidence in French by combining clear explanations, interactive practice, and personalized feedback.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous material, followed by targeted exercises (grammar, writing, reading, or conversation) depending on the student’s goals. I always end with a short recap to make sure key points are understood.
What sets me apart is my background: I am a second-year Social Sciences student at the University of Ottawa, with a lifelong education in French and experience studying at York University. This allows me to understand both the academic expectations and the challenges students face when learning French.
My lessons are ideal for high school and university students, as well as anyone who wants to strengthen their French skills for academic, professional, or personal reasons.
