About Rohan
Hi!
I am freshman at Purdue University, majoring in Aerospace Engineering. I tutored throughout 4 years of high school in piano, math, chem, and physics. I've had some VERY eccentric students, but there is no such thing as a someone that can't be brilliant. It's always a journey, and it's always fun.
Hope to go on that journey with you guys!

I teach with a "student driven experience". This means that I like the student to point the direction that they want to go in during a lesson. This approach not only teaches the content, but slowly instills a love for learning. This love for learning is far more important in the long run than just the content.
On top of the "student driven experience", my young age allows me to better connect to the students. Connecting with the student is crucial because they become comfortable; and a comfortable environment allows anyone to love what they do.
Some examples of a "student driven experience" below.
Academics:
I would follow the given course curriculum given by the school, but let the student pick the way that they want to approach the topic (ex: project-based, practice problems, etc). If we finish the scheduled curriculum then we move ahead to the next topic. This provides a really valuable foundation for when they get taught it again in class. If a student is struggling or dazed out, that means that they don't understand the previous units and have nothing to build off of. In this case, I would go back a few units to fill in any gaps.
Piano:
I have a collection of beginner songs to teach for the first month or two. It is important that the student maintains passion for the instrument. This can be done with more successes (ie. more songs learned). After a certain point I would let the student give a list of songs they are interested in and I would make sheet music to match the next topic.
