About Simon

Hey, I'm Simon! I’m a fourth-year Civil Engineering and Management student with a real passion for helping people learn — especially in subjects like Math, Calculus, and Physics. I’ve been tutoring for the past two years, mainly working with high school students who either need help catching up or want to take their grades to the next level. While I’m working toward becoming a Civil Engineer, I’ve always seen myself one day slowing down and becoming a teacher. I genuinely enjoy explaining things in a way that clicks for people — it’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I’m a high achiever academically (mostly As), but I’ve also had my fair share of tough classes. I know what it’s like to hit a wall, and I make sure my lessons are pressure-free and focused on building confidence, not just cramming. Whether we’re working online or in person (if you’re local), I’m here to help you understand the material, one step at a time. Outside of school, I love staying active — I’ve played hockey most of my life and I’m really into rock climbing. It’s just something fun about me, and a big part of how I spend my time when I’m not hitting the books.

About the lesson

MY TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND TECHNIQUES
I take a relaxed, step-by-step approach to teaching. I focus on really understanding where a student is stuck, and I explain things in a way that makes sense – using real-life examples and simple language (no overcomplicated jargon). Whether you’re struggling with a concept or just want someone to go through problems with you, I adapt to your pace and learning style. I want every session to feel like a conversation, not a lecture.

I’ve been in your shoes, and I know what it’s like to stare at a textbook feeling stuck. I'm not here to judge — just to help you understand things clearly and feel more confident. I’m easy to talk to, patient, and I genuinely care about helping you succeed. Plus, since I’m still a student myself, I know what’s expected and how things are being taught right now!
