About Oliver
I am a qualified Maths teacher and Cambridge graduate offering a high standard of face to face or online Maths tutoring for GCSE, A-Level and other qualifications.
I have found that confidence is a vitally important factor when studying Maths. It is for this reason that I aim to tutor in a relaxed but focused manner which helps students to boost both their confidence and enjoyment of the subject. I aim to be friendly and approachable so that students have no fear of asking questions in order to improve. When teaching I encourage students to fully understand the mathematical tools they use rather than simply memorise the method as this often proves beneficial in the long run.
Prior to working as a full-time private tutor I have previously taught in a Further Education College and a mixed secondary school and sixth form. From this time I have experience of teaching GCSE, A-Level and Functional Skills Maths as well as experience of teaching to re-sit and adult learners.

I'm able to teach online or in person around Cambridgeshire. In the first few lessons I usually aim to work on a few key topics students have found difficult previously to help build their confidence and form a good working relationship. Following lessons can then be planned around the particular needs and goals of the student.
