About Maheeka

My name is Maheeka Ranawaka, and I am a psychology graduate with an academic background in English-medium study. I teach Psychology with a strong focus on clarity, understanding, and student well-being. My aim is to make complex psychological concepts simple, relatable, and manageable for students at school level.

I approach teaching with professionalism, patience, and responsibility. About the lesson

I believe Psychology should feel understandable and safe, not confusing or stressful. As a psychology graduate, my goal is to help students truly understand concepts rather than memorising them. I explain lessons in simple language, using real-life examples so ideas feel relatable and easy to remember.

A typical lesson starts by checking what the student already knows and where they feel stuck. Then we explore one topic step by step, using clear explanations, discussion, and short questions to build confidence. I also support exam preparation by helping students understand how to answer questions correctly, especially for Edexcel and A Level Psychology.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my calm, patient, and supportive teaching style. I create a judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I pay special attention to students who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or afraid of the subject.
