About Helena

Hello, I’m Helena. I work professionally in a data-focused role and enjoy helping others understand technology in a clear and practical way. I decided to join Superprof because I genuinely enjoy explaining concepts and supporting students as they build confidence in coding and problem solving. I know what it feels like to be a complete beginner and so my aim is to provide the type of support I would have really valued as a beginner.

I know that programming can feel confusing at first, so I focus on creating a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. Seeing students go from feeling unsure about coding to understanding how things work is very rewarding.

Alongside my professional work, I value helping others develop skills that can support their education and future opportunities. Coding and computational thinking are increasingly important, and I enjoy helping students discover that they are capable of understanding these subjects step by step.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is supportive, practical and adapted to each student’s pace. I focus on helping students understand coding concepts step-by-step rather than memorising solutions. I use simple examples and short exercises so students can immediately practise what they learn.

A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes and usually includes a short explanation of a concept (such as variables, loops or conditions), guided coding practice, and time for questions or help with schoolwork or projects. I also encourage students to think through problems logically so they develop confidence in debugging their own code.

I currently work in a data-focused role where I regularly use technology, data and logical problem solving. This experience helps me explain programming concepts in a practical and accessible way.

Lessons are suitable for KS2–KS4 students, including beginners who are new to coding as well as students preparing for GCSE Computer Science. My aim is to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence with coding.
