About Yves
I'm a 43-year-old Dutchie, living in Punjab with my wife and two children. As a teacher I want to become wiser and I want to help my students become wiser. And the Dutch language is a perfect way to do this. So next to the grammar and memorization words, I focus on how our words can create more clarity, connection and collaboration.
In my free time I like to play guitar, go on trips with my family and help out in the village where I live. I started a small study center and a tiny library here, and I do a weekly garbage cleanup. Please feel free to ask me anything!

Did you know that Dutch people tend to open their lips twice as much as people talking English?
And that Dutch people don’t seem to lower their volume at the end of a sentence, but they give it a little oomph instead?
These are some of the patterns that I’ve discovered teaching Dutch to people from A1 to B2 level. I’ve helped dozens of students in hundreds of classes SOUND and THINK Dutch.
I give you the feedback Dutch people will probably not tell you to your face. That’s what I see as my role as your guide: to give you the patterns that stand in the way of sounding Dutch, so you can have more meaningful conversations, be more effective in the workplace and truly integrate in the Dutch culture.
Together with you, we create a personal lesson plan. We can use books like "Nederlands in Actie" or go completely off script with shadowing, memorization techniques, grammar practice, language islands and conversation practice.
Whatever level you have, I’m dedicated to helping you grow towards meaningful conversations. As a student of the Hindi language myself, that is my goal: to have meaningful intimate conversations with anyone I meet.
