About Stas

I am a game industry professional and tutor specializing in Unity and game development for kids and teens. For many years I worked as an art lead and art director on mobile and PC games, guiding teams of artists, animators, and technical specialists from the first prototype to release. Over this time, teaching became a natural part of my work. I: explained production pipelines and best practices, reviewed and improved other people’s projects, helped junior team members grow into confident specialists, created internal workshops on Unity, art for games, and game feel. Now I focus on young students who love games and want to understand how they really work. I teach in Russian, keep communication friendly and clear, and always support curiosity instead of criticizing mistakes. My goal is simple: give each student real, practical skills in Unity and game development, build their confidence through visible progress, help them think: “I can create my own game, not just play someone else’s.”

About the lesson

My lessons are fully online, in Russian, and built around real projects rather than dry theory. From the very first class we open Unity together and start building a simple 2D game. Step by step, we turn a basic idea into something playable on the screen. In a typical course we: create a character that can move and jump, build levels with platforms, obstacles, and collectibles, add enemies, win/lose conditions, and a simple menu, polish the game with sound, small effects, and a short gameplay video. I explain everything in simple, clear language, repeat important actions several times, and adjust the pace to each child’s age and experience. Younger students get more visual guidance, tiny clear steps, and lots of encouragement. Older students can dive deeper into scripting, design decisions, performance, and polishing their project. By the end of the first module, your child has: a complete mini-game made in Unity, a short gameplay video they can proudly show to friends and family, a solid foundation for further learning in programming and game development. Most importantly, they feel that game development is not “magic for adults,” but a clear, understandable process they can learn and enjoy.

My standard rate is $35 per hour for one-on-one online Unity and game development lessons. For small groups (3–5 students) I offer a lower per-student rate, and I’m also open to discounted pricing for regular weekly lessons or multi-hour packages. For long-term students we can discuss a custom plan that fits your schedule and budget.
