About Tom
I am a passionate mathematician, studying a mathematics degree at the University of Warwick. I have always enjoyed teaching maths to others, with the goal of improving their understanding, grades and to share my passion for a subject I have come to love. I am qualified with A*s in A Level maths and further maths and a 9 in GCSE maths, and I also have enhanced DBS certification. In my spare time I enjoy playing sports, such as football and badminton, and I go to the gym often. I am also a musician and I gig regularly in local pubs and bars.

I offer one to one lessons, lasting an hour, with the content being catered to the students' weaknesses or areas they would like to develop. I offer tutoring for the following: GCSE foundation and higher mathematics, A Level Mathematics and A Level Further Mathematics. I start my lessons by teaching the concept, and then move on to doing worked questions with the student, giving them a chance to practise applying what they've learnt with support and encouragement. I am a firm believer that mathematical mastery comes through repetition and practice, so at the end of the lesson I assign my students with questions based on the topic we learnt in the lesson which helps to cement understanding.

Perfect! Tom starting tutoring Kate in February 2023 for her Maths GCSE this summer. Tom was always very friendly, approachable and easy to work with. Tom revised over lots of maths topics with Kate and he worked through lots of past exam papers which really helped to consolidate Kate’s knowledge and prepare her for her maths papers. Tom has been an excellent tutor and we would highly recommend him!
- Kate has been an excellent student who worked extremely hard and will should hopefully be rewarded for her work when results day comes!See the response Tom :

Tom started tutoring me at the beginning of my a levels. This has enabled me to keep on top of the challenging content and ensured that I fully understand what I am learning. Tom is an organised, enthusiastic and a reliable tutor, while keeping each lesson enjoyable and interesting.
I met Tom whilst doing maths at Warwick university and have seen first hand the time he puts into each lesson. He’s an excellent teacher as he’s very smart and helped me understand several different concepts.
Tom is a hard working and enthusiastic mathematician. Throughout his own leaning he has not only performed extremely well in his studies but been praised for his willingness to help others.
Throughout my A-levels and GCSEs Tom has always helped in tutoring me with maths. He always went the extra mile to make sure I understood everything in depth, not only how to achieve the correct answer but understanding the theory behind why that method works. He always began by explaining the topic we were revising and then we worked through example questions together. After this, Tom allowed me to answer to a series of questions on my own, whilst still being there if I got stuck and needed help. If at any point I had gone wrong tom would advise me to try and figure out where this error was, which I found very helpful as it allowed me to pick up on my own mistakes. He would then explain how to correct the error and allowed me to attempt another question to ensure this error was fixed. As a person Tom was kind, polite and understanding and was willing to work through anything I needed help with.
