About Ross
I am a graduate of Keele University with a MSc from the University of St Andrews, currently based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I am able to give home or video lessons covering subjects across Geology and Earth Sciences from GCSE up to degree level, with a specialist interest in Petrology, Mineral Exploration and Economic Geology.

I adapt my teaching strategy to fit the preferred learning style of the student. I like to use both visual and practical aids but I find that tutoring is very much a two-way process where meaningful dialogue with the student informs my planning and assessment of progress. I am a very good listener and I have experience of getting to learn this subject and know which parts can be more confusing than they need to be. The most important thing is that I am passionate about geology and I love talking about it which helps a lot when teaching it!
