About Waleed

I am a dedicated math and science tutor with a strong academic background and recent firsthand experience as a student. Because I have gone through these courses myself not long ago, I understand the challenges students face and the pressure that comes with exams, homework, and fast-paced classes. This allows me to explain concepts in a way that is clear, relatable, and effective. While I am still young, I maintain a highly professional, structured, and goal-oriented approach to tutoring. I know how to connect with students, keep them engaged, and create a comfortable learning environment—while also holding them to high academic standards. I am reliable, well-prepared, and committed to helping each student make consistent progress. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop strong problem-solving skills, and succeed independently in their math and science courses.

My Approach as a Tutor

Teaching Method & Techniques
My approach focuses on building strong conceptual understanding before moving into problem-solving. I break down complex math and science topics into simple, logical steps and adjust my explanations based on how each student learns best. I use guided practice, real-world examples, and targeted questions to ensure students truly understand the material rather than memorizing formulas or procedures.

I also emphasize active learning—students work through problems with me, explain their thinking out loud, and gradually take more ownership as their confidence grows.

Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson is structured but flexible, depending on the student’s needs:

Quick check-in to identify goals for the session and review previous material

Concept review using clear explanations and visual or step-by-step breakdowns

Guided practice, where we solve problems together

Independent practice, with feedback and corrections in real time

Wrap-up, summarizing key takeaways and strategies the student can apply on their own

For exam preparation, lessons may include timed practice, review of common mistakes, and strategy-building.

What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is my ability to adapt to each student’s learning style while maintaining high academic expectations. I focus not only on getting the correct answer, but on helping students understand why an approach works. This leads to stronger long-term retention, improved problem-solving skills, and greater confidence in class and on exams.

I’m patient, reliable, and genuinely invested in each student’s progress. Another big thing that sets me apart is that I was very recently a student so I know how to connect with other students and how to communicate to their liking

Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are designed for:

Elementary, Middle and High school students

College students in introductory and intermediate math or science courses

Subjects include math (algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus) and science (biology, chemistry, & physics, and related courses). I work with students who need homework help, concept reinforcement, exam preparation, or ongoing academic support.
