My lessons will not be lengthy. I will model an opening. We will work together on a problem. You will show me your understanding. Then we will wrap up the lesson. The lessons are geared toward elementary age students. I have six kids of my own ranging from 29 all the way down to 4. I have tutored math for 25 years of my life .

A great teacher often has a blend of qualities that inspire and engage in their students. Here are a few reasons why i think Mr. Wood is considered a great teacher. I’ve known him for many years as my own children teacher and he shows great passion for the Subject. His enthusiasm can make lessons more engaging and inspire students to develop a genuine interest in the material. He shows empathy and Understanding. He takes his time to understand his students’ individual needs, challenges, and strengths. This helps create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student feels valued. He shows great patience. We are not all the same and a great teacher understands that each student learns at their own pace. They are patient when explaining difficult concepts, ensuring no student is left behind. He has the ability to Inspire beyond teaching content. Me. Wood has shown strong communication skills, dedication and encourages a love for learning! With these qualities make a teacher not just effective but also memorable and impactful in the lives of their students.
In my many years of knowing Steve Wood, he has always went above and beyond in every way possible. He sets an example and is a role model for the students. I always saw him show up to work in nice clothes with a different tie every day! When outside the school, I would always see him greeting the families with a bright smile. He makes his students love learning and they love to be in his class. I have heard so many students say good things about Steve Wood. Having 2 of my own children in his class over the years, I have personally seen the effects of his teaching and the way he makes every student feel seen and heard. He provides a positive classroom environment. Over the many years he has taught at Lone Star Elementary, he has kept this one special birthday song that he would teach the students to sing for the birthdays throughout the year. He also teaches them appropriate life lessons for their age. He is compassionate and cares about the students. He knows his students well, and likes to push them past their academic comfort. He likes them to explore past what they have familiarized themselves with to see growth. So sometimes, things may get quite difficult in his class. But when my child would struggle in his class, he would provide multiple resources for grade recovery and additional comprehension. He makes sure the parents are informed. At school events and even open house, ive seen him talk to many parents about their child's grade and progress in class. Ive also seen him post on Dojo. He remembers his students and shows support outside the classroom. He has told plenty of stories about attending his former students sports games and graduations!
I say all of that to say, Steve Wood is no ordinary teacher that just goes by the book. But he excels past his expectation even when no one is watching. He keeps a positive attitude and treats our kids as his own. He has proven multiple times over the years that he is reliable, responsible, trustworthy, and so much more.View more recommendations
