About Duy
Hi, I am Jake, a second year Computer Engineering student at the University Of Manitoba who is holding a 4.5/4.5 GPA. Explaining a difficult mathematics concept or pathing my friends to a solution is the feeling that I just discovered I have a love for. Seeing a friend go “OH, that’s how you do it” with a smile on their face afterwards truly inspires me into the art of teaching.
Now, I want to take a step further and help other students achieve what I have already achieved, preparing them for future courses, and most importantly, driving the beauty of the subject of mathematics into the lectures.

My Teaching Methodology:
- Having the students trying the questions beforehand and encourage them to make mistakes along the way.
- When approaching a problem, show the students the thinking process and the steps to be taken instead of the poor teaching style of “this question, that technique”.
- Making sure the students achieve a deep understanding of any contents before moving forward because generally in Math, the new topics cannot be acquired if the old ones are not mastered.
