As a tutor with a degree in elementary education, my goal is to transform reading from a passive task into an active, engaging skill. Here is an overview of how I structure my instruction and share knowledge with my students:

Explicit Phonics & Decoding: Breaking down complex words into manageable sounds to build independent decoding skills.

Guided Active Reading: Using real-time prompts, questioning, and visualization during reading to ensure constant engagement and prevent passive scanning.

Scaffolded Comprehension: Moving systematically from basic literal understanding (who, what, where) to critical thinking (main idea, inference, tone).

Typical 60-Minute Lesson Plan
