About Constance

I'm Constance, an experienced and qualified teacher from Brittany (and a proud Celt - which goes without saying).
I've been teaching French as a Foreign Language for 7 years now, in schools, universities, for private students but mainly for the Alliance Française. I've taught in France, New Zealand and the UK, all ages (from toddlers to adults) and all levels.
I started working in January 2018 for the Alliance Française of London, in Dorset Square where I taught until August 2020. I then decided it was time for me to start my own adventure as a freelance French teacher!

About the lesson

French can be overwhelming, I know, but I provide lessons built around your needs, interests and requests, at your own pace, giving you all the tools and confidence you need. My classes are therefore tailored, stress-free and entertaining, no matter your level! I create an authentic and immersive setting to learn, improve and generally communicate in French. My main target is speaking, but I don't leave out the rest of course. You will be able to order in a Parisian café and tell off the waiters when they get rude.

As for the content, I use books as well as authentic documents: articles, videos or recordings, on a variety of topics, depending again on your interests. I myself am passionate about arts of all kinds and culture, hiking, traveling, cooking and eating (yes, I love cheese), and highly interested in current affairs and politics, but generally curious about basically everything.

As for the practical aspect of it all:
These days I teach online using Teams, Skype or Zoom, but we can also discuss the possibility of having face to face lessons. I start with a free assessment which will allow us to get a clear idea of your current level, your needs and aspirations, as well as your schedule, and setup bespoke lessons accordingly!
My rate is £40 an hour for one student, £50 for two, £60 for three to five. Packages of 10 lessons are also available. The classes last from 1 hour to 1,5. They can go up to 2 hours for small groups.
