About Sophie

I am a graduate from the University of Edinburgh (2018). I have studied French for over 14 years and have lived and worked in Madagascar, using exclusively French language in both professional and personal environments, so have an advanced level of oral and written fluency.

I have extensive teaching experience ranging from Primary level up to sixth form and university undergraduate level.

Je suis une diplômée de l'Université d'Edimbourg (2018). J'étudais le Français depuis 14 ans et j'ai habité et travaillé en Madagascar, seulement utilisant le Français dans les environnements professionnels et personnels, donc j'ai un niveau avancé de maîtrise orale et écrite.

J'ai beaucoup d'expérience de l'enseignement, allant de niveau de primaire au lycée et premier cycle a l'univeristé.

About the lesson

I believe the key to confidence in a different language is to speak speak speak! My lessons focus on conversational oral skills based on real life scenarios, allowing the student to develop their confidence in a safe, judgement-free environment. We will also cover key grammatical concepts and build a wide and useful suite of vocabulary from a range of topics, including careers, hobbies, current events and politics, the environment, film and music. However, I think it is important for the student to feel motivated by the subject matter so I will tailor the lessons according to the student, their needs and particular interests.

Je crois que l'important pour la confidence dans les langues est pour parler parler parler! Mes classes concentrent sur les compétences orales de conversation dans les situations réalistes, qui permettent l'étudiant à développer leur confiance dans un environnement sûr et sans jugement. On étudiera les concepts grammaticaux importants et développera une vocabulaire large et utile d'une gamme de sujets, y compris les métiers, les passe-temps, événements en cours et les politiques, l'environnement, le cinéma et la musique. Cependant, je pense que c'est important que l'étudiant soit motivé par les sujets donc je changerai les cours dépendant sur l'étudiant, leurs besoins et leurs intérêts particuliers.
