About Benjamin
I have taught professionally for the past five years and live by the belief that "students don't care what you know, until they know that you care." That's the mentality I had every day, and it's a reason why students enjoyed coming to my class. Essentially, I was all about building and maintaining positive relationships, which is why I tried to cater my lessons to what the students were interested in. I'm originally from upstate New York but have lived in Chicago for nearly 10 years. I love playing board games, watching sports, playing tennis and going on walks.

I truly believe in building the confidence of students, especially in mathematics. I understand a lot of kids believe they "aren't good at math" or "aren't a math person" and I think that's a mindset that can be changed. I believe I'm qualified to meet students where they are at and help them progress to the point of excelling in grade-level standards.
