About Maanasa
I'm a mid-career public health professional who graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor's in Molecular Neuroscience and went on to get my Master's in Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill! My very first job was tutoring at Mathnasium and I really enjoy making math and science more approachable and fun for students. I have a fairly intimate understanding of standardized testing (ACT: 35, 9 AP exams and 4 subject SAT exams taken) and would love to help students feel prepared and ease their anxiety around these tests.

Students can let me know what subject, chapter, or topic they need assistance with and I will craft a lesson plan that introduces the right problem-solving methods, sample questions, and tips to use on exams and worksheets.
The subjects that I teach (math and chemistry) tend to be intimidating, but I try to make my lessons both approachable and effective! I create my own worksheets answer keys and I think it's valuable that students have access to my answer keys (once they've completed the worksheets themselves, of course!) so that they can understand and apply my problem-solving methods.
I am able to tailor my lessons to younger kids (those starting elementary school or learning arithmetic) and students entering middle school, high school, and even college! I completed math courses through Multivariable Calculus and Linear Algebra and am able to teach to a variety of levels.
