About Tammy

Hello ! I have been a Nursing graduate, with honours, since 2010. I graduated from a University that was ranked in the top 3 in the UK for Nursing at the time.

Along the way I have gained a plethora of experience and attended a variety of courses for my academic progression and personal interest e.g. a youth mental first aid qualification

I have worked in a host of surgical and medical wards, the community, clinics, offices and health organisations. I've loved meeting people from all walks of life and take access to healthcare seriously. Having worked extensively on my own, I also genuinely believe that it is important to keep Nurses and health care workers clinically educated and informed so as to nurture confident and capable professionals.

I want to help in the efforts to attain this,and it really would be a pleasure to be apart of your learning process. Please don't hesitate to make contact, should you have any questions. I look forward to your correspondence and the lessons ahead!

About the lesson

- Initial engagament and greeting !

- Short ice-breaker e.g. current event or chat about the weekend, or even a worry about Nursing we can discuss.

- Brief overview of my qualifications, experience as a tutor and what I am able to offer: what age I cover, what level I work to. I have worked privately and within the NHS. Hospital work was my primary focus, but I have also worked on health campaigns and in the community doing a variety of tasks- such as vaccination clinics.

- Summary of forthcoming lesson, material covered, my teaching style. We can make the lessons as easy or diffcult as you require, and I can help assess this. If it is a challenge you need ( e.g. ethical discussion) I can bring this to the table, or if you simply need some support , guidance and tutoring through a module- I can also assist.

- Any questions, ideas of learning styles you respond well to- let's discuss ?

- The Bulk of lesson will be followed up with any questions you may want answered, and I will give you plenty of time to think about queries and answer concerns. I'm happy to talk about anything you liked or did not like - to advise me on my next lesson plan, should you wish.

N.B I like to use co-operative learning, as it is an interactive learning style. As we are able to critically analyse situations and come to conclusions together, a rapport is formed (for a more comfortable environment - and helps me ascertain progress ). This is great for work at University level , too - and is what is expected.
If you would prefer a less interactive stance I can also accomodate.
