I met Hunter during our 2nd year at the University of Washington. Even though we were in different programs (his being math, mine Electrical Engineering) I always benefitted from sitting in on his Calculus seminars and picking his brain after class. He is a kind, supportive, and emotionally invested instructor who really strives to ensure you not only understand the subject, but learn to enjoy the process behind finding the answers. Anyone who is nervous or scared about higher level mathematics should give him a go!

I know Hunter through being in the same class. He was always willing to help if I struggled with a topic and made it easy to understand. He was very easy to reach out to and very open to finding a way to suit my way of learning best. For example he was able to explain and help me visualize doing math in the 3D space in Calculus using vectors. Would very much recommend Hunter.

Hunter is a dear friend and classmate of mine from our undergraduate studies. We majored in mathematics together and I am grateful to have been able to enlist his help during our upper division coursework (such as Real Analysis and Abstract Algebra). Hunter is a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic tutor and makes learning difficult topics seem like an exciting endeavour. His lectures and presentations are thorough, succinct, and deeply entertaining. For example, his presentation about the Banarch-Tarski Paradox, a difficult subject with a lot of background information, delivered all of the elements required to understand it in an easy to consume manner with some comedic elements mixed in to keep the audience engaged. I recommend Hunter because he is extremely intelligent, dedicated to education, deeply curious about mathematics, and makes learning fun!

I know Hunter from my undergraduate math classes. Hunter is very patient and supportive. From the many workshops and studying we did together he was always super engaged and was great at explaining simple to complex ideas to bolster everyone's understanding.

When I expressed how I was having a hard time understanding the basics he provided one on one support where we looked at problems one at a time and broke them down into digestable pieces in a way I could actually wrap my head around (as someone who isnt a math major!). He has a passion for teaching and for Mathematics that is rare and I believe is what makes him great. He encourages steady growth at your own pace in a way that makes you feel genuinely capable and successful. Give him a chance.
