I can help you realize your English language goals for career or social advancement with lessons that are designed specifically for you. Some students need to develop their vocabulary in a very specific area such as travel, health care, finance, or technology.
I believe that every individual learns differently and I specialize and differentiated instructions to meet these various needs. I also believe in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for students to feel comfortable being vulnerable and honest on their learning continuum. This is important to me as it helps me support my students in a more holistic and rounded way.
- Identifying student’s interests and goals - Providing a fun teaching environment with practical examples - Patience and full attention
My teaching methods are using pop culture in forms of music, tv shows, and movies as a way to learn and have a better understanding of the English language. It makes it so that it is much easier and more fun to learn English and understand how concepts of Western Culture affect the function of the language as a whole.
Welcome to my profile! I am a Ph.D. of Chemical and Biological Engineering, graduated from the University of British Columbia (UBC). My research field is solid waste management and processing of biomass residues and municipal solid waste to convert to standard secondary renewable fuels.
My teaching methodology will be tailored to each person which we will discuss in the introductory lesson. All of the sessions will be run virtually through either Skype or Google Hangouts. The sessions itself doesn't have to be based on your career and/or leadership.
Depending on the style the student would choose, I adapt my knowledge to his/her choice. During a Hatha class, we follow the traditional style starting with the sun salutation series and moving through the practice in a slow flow holding postures for a certain amount of breaths.
Creating unique lesson plans for my students and utilizing my library of resources is how I best help my learners. I take the time to get to know my students and their intended goals. Afterwards, I will develop a road map that will allow you to achieve your goals and see the steps needed to get there.
I usually meet with students at a library or on one of the BCIT campuses. In the case of high school students, I will go to students home in some cases. My lessons are specifically tailored to the student's goals and abilities.
I am a creative thinker that will tailor your learning experience to your learning type and level. I am happy to help all levels of education. I am bilingual in french and English and conversational in Spanish. A typical session would address specific topics of your interest.
I believe in self-directed learning, and prefer to let the student lead the tutoring sessions. Usually that means the student comes with either a set of notes to read through or an assignment to work on, and I am there as a resource to answer questions or explain concepts; however, I am open to doing whatever the student thinks will be most helpful.
My teaching methods are student focused and I believe strongly in individualized lesson plans as each student has a different learning style.
My classes are well structured and adapted to each student's level, needs and interests. My teaching approach is communicative and interactive, maximizing the use of target language. I like to integrate audio-video materials to stimulate an interactive learning environment. I also adopt a thematic approach, encouraging the students to work on various topics.
When I teach, I like to take a student-centered approach with my class, maximizing the time students can practice speaking and listening. I tend to act as a mentor and not as an over-bearing know-it-all. I encourage students to take personal initiative, have fun, and relax when learning.
My teaching method is individual based on their age and preferences because every body has unique personality and tastes and.....
I teach solely based on the student and what they excel in and strive to find a balance, ease and joyful approach to learning.
I use an eclectic method that uses creativity to provide a unique learning experience for students. I use stories as well as real life experience in my teaching and make learning fun.
I base my classes on conversational subjects that would help the students develop a more confortable base, while working on grammar and vocabulary.
I believe in practise. The more you write and the more feedback you get, the better you learn. I try to provide topics that the student will enjoy.
If you bring me a text, I will really consider how it could be improved and give you clear explanations of how a reader would think reading your text as well as pointers on technical aspects like sentence structure.
Initially, I base my lectures on quick review of the concepts and then I move on to some example questions to check some deficiencies in understanding. Once the concepts have been established I solve with students some assignment questions to give them confidence to work on questions on their own.
I focus on movement as medicine, balancing the physical with the mental and spiritual benefits of the practice. We use strength to build the stability for our joints, and deep stretching to release tension in our connective tissue.
