About Chantelle

I am a graduate of the University of Chichester's BA Hons Digital Film Production and Screenwriting course. I have since sold scripts to studios; one of which, featuring a named actor, is set to be featured in film festivals worldwide. I have nine years of Screenwriting experience and would love to pass my passion for Screenwriting onto others!

Alongside Screenwriting, I have been working in the film industry for 6 years. I have experience in most departments but tend to work in the directing department, usually as an assistant director. I've also worked as a producer, which has given me a great awareness of what kind of screenplays get produced.

About the lesson

My teaching method is entirely dependant on the experience level of the individual.

I could either teach you at my home in Chichester, at my office in Bognor Regis or over Skype, whichever is your preference.

For a complete beginner, we would start with understanding screenplay structure, moving onto crafting realistic, relatable characters and building a watertight plot. We will study some story theory (based primarily on the three act structure and Campbell's Heroes Journey) but there will be lots of practical application too in the form of writing assignments. In time, you will craft your own short screenplay or feature excerpt which you'll be pitching to an actual studio!

There will also be opportunities to work on set and see how a screenplay materialises into real scenes.
