About Kenoly

My name is Kenoly Kadia, and I am a classically trained pianist, accompanist, and piano instructor. I received my Master's degree in piano performance at the University of Texas at Austin. Furthermore, I have also been teaching piano since 2018. Being an African pianist has enabled me to venture in different areas of music and be able to connect with students from different ethnic backgrounds. Also, having lived in Italy, Europe for 8 years, has given me the ability to further connect with my students both linguistically and ethnically. I currently reside in the United States, Texas. Living in Texas has opened many doors and has given me the opportunity to teach students ranging from 5 years of age to +40. Some of my proudest achievements include graduating top 3% of my high school graduating class, earning my bachelor's in music with a minor in Italian and on a pre-dental track, graduating with 6 honors, winning 2nd place for two consecutive years at the University of Texas at Austin Nilsson Piano Competition, winning 3rd place at the National Association of Negro Musicians Piano Competition, winning 3rd place at the Tuesday Musical Club Piano Competition and more.

About the lesson

My goal as a teacher is to find the unique musical voice within each one of my students. Over the years, classical music has gained a reputation of being very strict, with little to no room for the performer’s interpretation. However, as a teacher, I work hard to establish a sense of critical thinking and inner musicality within my students, so that they can go out in the real world and be proud to share their unique musical identity with everyone. Finding your voice as a musician requires a great deal of resilience. Being able to push through boundaries and limitations will set you apart from others. This is why as a teacher, I challenge my students with repertoire that will strengthen their overall musicianship while enforcing a sense of critical thinking.

Perfect! Kenoly communicates clearly and offers F2F sessions which is what we're looking for. The 1:1 sessions are organized at the Music Recital Hall in Austin which feels professional. Kenoly offers a free first trial session so definitely give him a chance if you're looking!
