About Ben
Hello, I’m Benjamin, a dedicated guitar tutor with 5 years of teaching experience. I specialize in helping beginners and intermediate students build real guitar skills in a simple, step-by-step way.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree and I’m verified by Superprof, so you can trust my professionalism and commitment to quality teaching. Over the years I’ve worked with students of different ages and goals — from first-time players to those preparing for worship teams and small performances.
My approach is patient, structured, and results-focused. I believe anyone can learn guitar with the right guidance. I take time to understand your goals, adapt each lesson to your level, and give clear feedback so you improve steadily and confidently.
Whether you want to play for fun, worship, or performance, I’ll guide you with practical techniques, real songs, and consistent support. Learning guitar should feel enjoyable, not stressful. With me, you’ll get a professional, encouraging environment where progress comes naturally.

I use a step-by-step, hands-on method. We learn by playing, not by memorizing boring theory first.
1. Chunking: I break every song/skill into small pieces. Learn 1 chord → practice it → add strumming → then play the song. Small wins build confidence.
2. Song-based learning: Instead of random exercises, we use real songs you love. Fun songs, worship, or performance pieces — your choice. This keeps lessons fun and practical.
3. Learn-by-doing + feedback: You play, I guide. I’ll stop you gently to fix hand position, timing, or strumming. We fix problems right away so you don’t build bad habits.
4. Visual + practical: I show you on my guitar, then you copy. We use simple diagrams for chords and patterns. No complex music terms unless you want them.
A typical lesson plan
Lessons are 60 minutes, but I adapt for 30 or 45 mins too. Here’s the flow:
1. 5 mins - Warm up & check-in: Quick review of last lesson + how practice went. We fix any problems first.
2. 15 mins - New skill: 1 new chord, strumming pattern, or technique. I demo → you try → we repeat slowly.
3. 25 mins - Apply to a song: We use the new skill inside a real song. This is where it “clicks”. We play it together, section by section.
4. 10 mins - Practice plan: I give you 2-3 simple exercises for the week. 10-15 mins daily is better than 2 hours once.
5. 5 mins - Q&A: Ask anything. No question is “silly”.
What sets me apart as a tutor
1. Patience first: I teach beginners and nervous students a lot. No rushing, no judgment. We go at your pace.
2. Simple explanations: My engineering background helps me break hard things into simple steps. If you’re confused, I’ll explain it 3 different ways until it makes sense.
3. Goal-focused: You want worship guitar? We’ll focus on chord progressions + strumming for songs. Want to perform? We’ll work on timing + stage confidence. Your goal drives the lessons.
4. Confidence building: Lots of tutors teach chords. I also teach you how to believe you can play. We celebrate small progress every lesson.
Who the lessons are for
1. Level: Absolute beginners who’ve never touched a guitar, up to intermediate players who can play a few chords but feel stuck.
2. Age: Kids 10+ and adults. I adapt my language and pace for each age.
3. Goals: Students learning for fun, church/worship teams, school performances, or just to play songs for family/friends.
4. Specific needs: If you have trouble with chord changes, rhythm, or staying motivated, I specialize in fixing those exact problems step by step.
No music degree required. All you need is a guitar, internet for online lessons, and willingness to try. I’ll handle the rest.
