About Aoife

Aoife has been working in the Arts for over 15 years both as a performer and drama teacher. She graduated from TU University with a BA in Drama, then studied Screen Acting in Bow Street Academy and most recently graduated from Griffith College with a H.Dip in Drama Education. As a performer, Aoife regularly works professionally in theatre and film making appearances on Irish and international stages as well as RTÉ, and films such as ‘Poster Boys’ and the Hallmark Channel’s ‘Christmas at Castle Hart’. Aoife has taught drama to a variety of groups in different settings including online. She has worked in primary schools in Dublin and Wexford as well as working in performance schools delivering the LSMD Drama syllabus. She also teaches 'Learning English Through Drama' to international students as part of the Irish Erasmus programme. Aoife strives to instill her drama students with a sense of creativity, confidence and fun.

About the lesson

I have always had a love for drama and aspire as a drama teacher to translate my passion for the art into my teaching practice. I strive to create a safe creative environment, promoting the values of equality and respect to my students and ensuring that their learning experience is not impeded by discrimination or prejudice. My teaching practice is centered around the promotion of active learning, engaging students at all times and establishing the conditions where they can participate fully in each class. I like to use visual, aural and sensory aids in my lessons to cater to all learning types. I wish not only to teach students fundamental performance skills, but to help them to develop the interpersonal skills and self-confidence that will resonate throughout their lives. My philosophy is based on student empowerment and in giving them the platform to truly express themselves. I offer lessons based around confidence building, classic speech and drama techniques as well as audition preparation. I am also currently working with Erasmus students on building English language skills through drama. I can offer 'Learning English through Drama' lessons to students of all levels.

Perfect! Aoife was very good breaking down the script and giving me confidence in a short space of time. She gave me a great tips for my audition and getting a different perspective on how to approach certain parts.

It has helped me prepare more on how to "unlock" what I need for this audition. Highly recommend!

I was able to quickly improve my English pronunciation and learn the basics of drama. She sent me all the lessons and we were able to practice in F2F in a good mood.
