About Fabian

Hello everyone!
My name is Fabián, I am from Malaga, born and raised in a small town in the province. I am a Graduate in Philosophy and I have a Master's Degree in Teaching. Right now I am doing my PhD.
Besides Spanish and English, I speak German and Turkish. We could say that I love languages and especially the culture associated with them. Since, while on Erasmus, I attended my first language class, I found the teaching activity very attractive, so much that I always thought about working in the field at some point. In addition, I thought that having collected so much experience as a student would allow me to offer lessons that are more appropriate to students and away from the more traditional ones. I was lucky enough to be able to work as a teacher of foreign language for two years in Turkey with schoolchildren, high school, and university students. I really enjoyed my time as Spanish teacher there.

About the lesson

My teaching practice is based on personalized attention to the needs of my students and on the practical orientation of my teaching. This implies an evaluation of the initial situation of the student, as well as their objectives and interests, so that it is possible to offer the most effective type of classes for their learning. In the same way, I have a clear communicative approach, promoting the acquisition of techniques that lead the student to be able to express himself competently in the shortest period of time.
My classes normally follow an order: first we work on the previous notions, so that from what the student knows we can start with the explanations and exercises; later, I make a short presentation of the subject in question, to then put into practice what we have learned. As a conclusion, a round of questions is carried out where doubts or comments can be solved together. As far as possible, the classes will be complete in the language under study.
My classes are aimed at all types of target audiences and levels, since I have taught all types of target audiences (from preschool to university) and almost all types of levels (from A1 to B2).

My performance as a teacher lays on a personalized attention to the needs of the student and on the practical orientation of my teaching style. This implies an evaluation of the student's starting point, which includes the consideration of his / her aims and interests as well, in order to offer the most effective type of lesson for him / her. My lessons are directed also by a communicative approach, promoting the acquisition of technics and the required competencies to make the student able to communicate in a competent way as soon as possible.
My lessons could be portraited in the following way: firstly, we have a warming-up moment, where I collect all the knowledge the student had already about the day's topic. Then I continue with an explanation of the content, always oriented to the praxis, that is to say, to promote the student to acquire the required competencies to set in practice what we are learning. All sessions end with a round of questions, where together with the student we will clarify doubts or make comments on the topic. As far as it is possible, lessons are conducted in the target language.
I do not have a specific target group or level, since I have been teaching to all target groups (from Pre-school to University students) and almost all levels (from A1 to B2).
