About Eugenia

I am a passionate visual creative and educator with a Bachelor’s Degree on Visual Communication Design and a Third-Level Degree in Professional Photography. I have more than six years of experience working as an in-house and as a freelance graphic designer and photographer, and also as an arts and design educator at The National University of Littoral, a very prestigious college in my home town, Santa Fe,Argentina. There, I participated in three different subjects: Thesis Workshop; Theory and Criticism of Design and Research Methodology in Visual Arts. The first two were part of the Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Communication Design’s syllabus and the third one (where I am still participating as a remote teacher), to the Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts syllabus.

But it's not all theory! Regarding my professional development, I started as a designer in an advertising and marketing agency, where I helped develop numerous projects, including several complete branding and editorial works, multiple advertising and social media campaigns, some user-interfaces graphics and commercial photography productions.
When I co-founded my own studio and started working as a freelancer, I specialized in editorial design, creating layouts and visual aesthetics of books, magazines, online publications and other media, at the same time that I kept developing as a photographer.

I have broad experience with Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Affects and Premiere so I can perfectly assist you with lessons focused in one of this programs if you need it.

Finally, I am a proficient English and Spanish user and I have excellent communication skills. I love teaching and I am looking forward to help you!

About the lesson

My lessons typical lenght and dynamic will depend on the student's needs. Since my education and work experience have to do with both theory and practice, my offer is varied. I mainly focus on two areas: history and aesthetics - techniques and practice.
Regarding the first group, I develop visual arts, graphic design and photography History and contemporary Aesthetics, always choosing the topics according the student's needs. Rather than lecturing, I usually present and discuss historical and contemporary works in a way that connects the art/design/photographic legacy to the student’s life. The covered topics will vary: it could be as broad as street photography during the 20th century or as specific as graffiti history, depending on my audience's curricular goals. Regarding Aesthetics, we often examine contemporary trends in digital imaging, analyze photographic works to build their visual literacy skills and discuss the images in terms of craft and composition. I tend to focus on the message that the photograph or art piece is communicating, since it's one of my strong skills (being a visual communicator). In this way, I intend to stimulate my students’ visual sensitivity, which in turn informs their image making.

About technical and practice lessons: I cover key concepts, such as point of view, framing, lighting, and composition, and for that, I can work with any type of camera or image-making device from 35mm cameras to digital cameras. We learn photography best by doing it, so this lessons are face-to-face. We can practice at a studio, at home or go out and try some outdoors.

Finally, since I am a professional creative myself, I have plenty experience working with Adobe Creative Suite programs and I usually help graphic design and photography students with this too. The lessons can be oriented for beginners and cover all the program's functions in general or be focussed on a particular action or process, as for example, editing photographs in Lightroom.
