About Zia
As a guitarist and educator for nearly a decade, I’ve worked with students of all ages and musical goals — from complete beginners to performers. My lessons are grounded in positivity, patience, and adaptability, helping students stay engaged while building strong technical foundations. Having played in small bands and solo performances, I understand the joy and discipline that come with mastering the instrument. I integrate real-world performance tips, tone control techniques, and creative improvisation ideas into every session. Outside of lessons, I compose instrumental tracks and collaborate with other musicians, keeping my teaching fresh and modern. Watching students progress from simple chords to confident musical expression continues to be the most fulfilling part of my work.

My guitar lessons combine foundational technique with creative exploration. Students begin by learning chord shapes, strumming patterns, and rhythm coordination before moving into more advanced topics like fingerstyle, improvisation, and music theory. Each lesson balances structure with fun, keeping motivation high.
We work through songs chosen collaboratively, ensuring that each new concept connects to real music. I also introduce ear training, reading tablature, and basic songwriting to help students understand how to build and personalize their sound. Beginners focus on smooth transitions, while advanced players refine phrasing, tone control, and soloing.
For those aiming to perform or record, I include stage readiness and practice organization techniques. My goal is to help each student feel capable of picking up the guitar and expressing themselves confidently through it.
