About Leah

My journey as a guitarist began with a fascination for how music can communicate stories and emotions without words. This passion led me to complete a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance followed by a Master of Music in Contemporary Guitar Performance. Over the past 11 years, I have worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, helping them develop technical skill, creativity, and confidence through supportive instruction. Teaching guitar allows me to combine artistic expression with meaningful education.

I especially enjoy helping students use guitar as a tool for songwriting, musical storytelling, and creative exploration. Whether working on melodic development, harmonic understanding, or expressive interpretation, I encourage learners to connect personally with the music they create and perform. My teaching style balances structure with flexibility, ensuring that each student receives guidance that matches their goals and learning preferences.

Outside teaching, I enjoy performing, composing, recording music, and exploring different musical traditions. These experiences allow me to bring fresh ideas and practical insights into every lesson. Watching students overcome challenges and discover their own musical voice is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession. I am dedicated to helping learners grow into confident and expressive musicians who enjoy every stage of their development.

About the lesson

My guitar lessons are designed to make learning both enjoyable and deeply rewarding. I use storytelling, humor, real-world music examples, and practical demonstrations to help students understand techniques in a meaningful way. Lessons cover bending control, vibrato development, solo phrasing, tone shaping, rhythm precision, improvisation skills, and stage confidence. Rather than focusing only on repetition, I encourage students to understand how each technique contributes to expressive and memorable performances. This approach helps learners stay motivated while building strong technical foundations.

Every student receives personalized guidance based on their goals and experience level. Beginners focus on chord transitions, rhythm development, hand coordination, and essential playing techniques. Intermediate learners strengthen fretboard knowledge, musical expression, improvisation, and stylistic flexibility. Advanced students work on performance preparation, tone refinement, advanced phrasing concepts, and technical mastery. Some learners benefit from patient encouragement as confidence grows, while others enjoy structured challenges that push their abilities further. Regular feedback helps students continue progressing with clarity and purpose.

Music should be a source of creativity, confidence, and personal growth. My lessons help students become independent musicians who can express themselves naturally through their instrument. As skills improve, learners often discover new levels of confidence and artistic freedom. My goal is to help every student enjoy the journey while developing lasting musical abilities.
