"A little about me. My name is Ricardo. Outside of this classroom, I like to stay active, I run, I work out, and I try to get outside whenever I can. Hiking, being out in the fresh air, anything that keeps me moving. I believe learning a language is a lot like training: you don't get results in one day, you get them by showing up and putting in the work, a little at a time. hi everyone, welcome. My name is Ricardo, and for the next few weeks I'm going to teach you how to speak and read English. I want to say something before we start: it does not matter how much English you know right now. Maybe you know a lot, maybe you know almost nothing — that's fine. You are in the right room. We're going to start with sounds, because English doesn't always look the way it sounds. Then words, then sentences, and before long you'll be reading things you never thought you could read. You are going to make mistakes in this class. I want you to make mistakes — that's how I know what to teach you next. Nobody laughs at anybody here. If I go too fast, stop me. If you don't understand something, say so, and I'll say it another way. This isn't just about passing a test — it's about being able to talk to your neighbor, read a letter that comes in the mail, ask a question at work, and speak up for yourself. That's what we're here for. So let's begin."
