About Kelsey

I am a licensed hair color specialist and have been taught by many amazing educators. I have worked in fast-paced, high-end salons in both Hoboken, New Jersey and New York. I specialize in real-world color application, advanced formulation, and client education. I’m passionate about teaching and committed to helping each student grow in a way that feels clear, creative, and personalized. Whether you’re just starting out or already in the field, you’ll be learning from someone who is hands-on, experienced, and truly invested in your success.

About the lesson

I’m here to help you truly understand color. Whether you’re brand new or already behind the chair, I customize every lesson to your level and how you learn best. I understand that people process information differently - so whether you need visuals, detailed steps, or hands-on examples, I’ll meet you there.

We’ll cover everything from color theory and formulation to toning, gray blending, and corrections - but I don’t just teach how, I teach why. You’ll learn the reasoning behind every technique: why you’d choose a vertical vs. horizontal vs. diagonal-back parting, the purpose behind babylights vs. teasy-lights, how and when to adjust your weave or saturation, and how those choices affect the end result.

My goal is to help you feel confident, make educated choices, and understand the artistry and the science behind great color.
